Bead Challenge 2009/2010
2010 Bead Challenge Rules

Twenty-three packets have been assembled with a focal bead, some seed beads, and some intermediary beads (larger than seed beads, smaller than the focal bead). The challenge is to pick a bag at random, without seeing what’s inside (the supplies are in brown paper bags), and make a piece of jewelry or wearable art from the contents.

Note: There is a $1.00 participation fee for the challenge
.

  • Rule #1: You must use a focal bead (some packets have more than one)
  • Rule #2: You do not have to use all of the beads but the finished project must consist of 75% of the beads from the packet, including the focal bead
  • Rule #3: You can add more beads, up to 25% of the finished project
  • Rule #4: Findings and non-bead components do not count in the percentages
Packets will be available at the January, February, March, and April meetings. You may swap your packet only once for an unclaimed packet or between two members. You must swap the entire packet. You may not swap elements from one or more packets. “Before” pictures have been taken of each packet so the judges will know what we had to work with.

If you cannot attend one of these meetings and would still like to participate, contact Pat Reichert (345-3166) to make arrangements to pick up a packet.

Judging will take place during the May meeting. Have fun!
