Home EC Room #110

Enter the building in the main door right off the parking lot.

6:00 - 8:00 pm (note earlier time since it's a school night)

Open beading night with informal instruction in a variety of techniques. Wexford Ridge neighborhood residents welcome at no charge (our guest fee is usually $5.) Their activity director will be posting a sign-up sheet for adult women and older girls so we have an idea of how many to expect. Some have met previously to do beadwork.

Tables will be set up for a fun night of sharing beading skills, teaching newcomers to bead, and providing the supplies.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:

PLEASE Bring extra tools to share clearly marked with your name
Bring extra working trays or towels for work surfaces.
Offer to sit at one of the tables as a resource person - show beginners the "how-to's" and suggest ideas for those with some experience.

We have a LOT of beads but few findings, wire or tools, so any of those that you might have to donate would be very appreciated.

Bring zipper bags or small jewelry boxes for our new friends to take home their creations.

1 table - seed bead work & basic stringing. More advanced beaders might decide to graduate to peyote, etc.
2 table - simply pony bead stringing on cord and patterns for shaped jewelry and keychains.
3 table - finishing techniques… "my beads are strung, now how do I keep them from falling off?"
4 table - working with color and selecting proper supplies… considering weight, drape, texture, finished size, proper wire size for bead holes, etc.

OPTIONAL:  Bring bead books to look at clearly marked with your name
Bring patterns to share (please set a good example and do not reproduce copyrighted material!)
Bring some of your work to show and tell.
Maybe we'll have an impromptu style show to model our new jewelry!

Other ideas?
Let me know ahead of time or bring your ideas that night!

Bead on!
