Madison Bead Society

Wire, jump rings, washers, and a bead

Bead Loom Work

It’s a similar idea to the bead quilt project in Bead & Button but not limited to peyote stitch.
Here are the parameters:
                 • Must be 3x3 inches (no bigger, no smaller)
                 • Must be flat or relatively flat
                 • Must incorporate beads
                 • Include loops in the corners or allow for jump rings to be attached to each corner or be attached to a 3x3”

square of fabric (edges finished, please)
                 • Use any technique as long as it fits in the 3” square requirement
This is an ongoing project.  In 2013, the year we started this, we encouraged members to have a square completed for the annual meeting in August. Once pieces are turned in they become the property of the Madison Bead Society. Credit will be given to the creator unless you wish to remain anonymous. Board members have made samples using different techniques, see pictures below. If you have any questions, feel free to email
info@madisonbeadsociety.org or one of the board members or bring them up at a meeting.

Bead Challenge

Beaded Crazy Quilt Project
We are asking all interested members to contribute a square to a MBS beaded crazy quilt that, when combined, will be on display at the MBS annual show, the Art Glass and Bead Show, the UW Hospital display, and any other display opportunities that come our way.
